We follow the PRVN Fitness programming here at CrossFit Canberra which offers three varying levels of difficulty to each workout programmed for our CrossFit® training sessions. What this means for you is regardless of your current fitness level or exposure to CrossFit® training you’ll have the confidence to get started today!

CrossFit Canberra 1st week

As described by CrossFit LLC, “CrossFit is a fitness program that produces measurable outcomes through lifestyle changes, centered on training and nutrition. Workouts consist of constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movements, and are most fun and effective among friends at a local CrossFit gym” (Crossfit, 2023).

CrossFit® is underpinned by the tenets of the “mechanics, consistency, intensity charter”. This charter explains that you as a functional fitness athlete should first know how to move correctly. Once you understand how and why you need to complete a movement correctly we would then assess your ability to display this technique in a number of environments and under a variety of stimulus and load. Once you as a functional fitness athlete can display mechanics and consistency, only then is intensity added. You can read more about this charter on The CrossFit Journal here.

  • You’ll want to wear comfortable athletic/training gear that you can move freely and sweat in.

    The only thing you’ll need to bring is a drink bottle.

  • We have:

    • An Infrared sauna accessible to all members to book through glofox.

    • Open gym access, 7 days a week via your own electronic key.

    • Toilets, shower and a space to change.

    • Cubby’s for all your personal items.

    • Prostore. Including stock of True Protein, FitAid and CFCBR Apparel

  • We sure do! We want you to actually be coached when you come to the gym. For that reason we cap our classes at 18.

  • Absolutely! Our workouts are infinitely scalable. Meaning no matter where you are at in your fitness journey, CFCBR is for you!

    Our coaches are trained to ensure you’re able to get the right stimulus for each workout. They will help you pick the right movements to get the most out of your time at CFCBR.

  • Warm up - we want you to get the most out of your session and have your body primed to move its best. That is why we run a comprehensive warm up to begin every session.

    Workout - The workout of the day is constantly varied. You may be focusing on strength work and then a metcon, gymnastics, Olympic lifts, strongman or bodybuilding. It will change every day but you’ll be sure to get a good workout in!

    Cool Down - A good cool down, stretch or mobility session is essential to ensure you get the most out of your training. Every session will end with a cool down to ensure you can live an extraordinary life!

  • Here at CFCBR, you’ll have access to our main CrossFit program. This will be the workout run in the coached sessions daily. This program will step out a warm up, strength/skill component, main workout and cool down.

    Our main workout is broken down into 3 streams of varying levels of difficulty. Which means no matter your current fitness level, capability or energy level there is an option to suit you!

    We also have extra programming available to everyone - if you want to take things up a notch. These extra workouts are broken down into category such as weightlifting, gymnastics, conditioning, and competitor.

  • We want everyone to feel confident, comfortable and safe in our gym. We aim to ensure every member can leave their stress at the door and enjoy the best hour of their day at CFCBR.

    Put simply every member aims to bring their good vibes to the gym, they turn up, get sweaty and cheer on their fellow athletes!

  • Of course! We run our annual internal pairs competition “Iconic Duos” as well as other seasonal challenges.

    We also grab coffee every Saturday after our Super Saturday 8am session and of course host an annual Christmas Party.

    Our members are also known to support each other at local sporting events and invite each other to social events - we really are like one big family!
